We offer private dog training services to Melbourne’s people and their dogs. With longer work hours and busy lifestyles, many of our clients are unable to attend traditional group classes, or simply prefer a more personalised, one-on-one training approach. That’s where we come in.
We also offer online dog training courses that allow you to learn at your own pace, from the comfort of home.
In addition to private sessions and online courses, we love to present dog training seminars and workshops for dog owners, trainers, foster carers, and veterinary professionals. To stay up to date with upcoming events, please check our Facebook page.
For seminar or workshop enquiries, contact Tim at [email protected]
We primarily offer private dog training services to the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne, including Abbotsford, Brunswick, Brunswick East, Brunswick West, Burnley, Carlton, Carlton North, Clifton Hill, Coburg, Collingwood, Cremorne, East Melbourne, Fairfield, Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Northcote, Preston, Princes Hill, Richmond, and Thornbury. If we don’t service your area, we’re happy to offer recommendations of other appropriately qualified, experienced, and educated professionals that do (or you can come to us!).
Online sessions are available for out-of-towners. These are conducted over Zoom.
At Good Dog, we’re big on finding fun and creative ways to make the learning process enjoyable for both you and your dog. Our dogs are a huge part of our lives, and we want the same for our clients.
We use a wide variety of training methods, which vary from dog to dog and situation to situation. In every case, we take into account your dog’s age, breed, temperament, exercise needs, as well as your own skill set and training history.
Just like no two people are the same, no two dogs are either. Some dogs go crazy for food rewards, while others prefer a toy or a game of fetch. At Good Dog, we work collaboratively with you to determine what works best for your dog, your goals, and your lifestyle.
This depends on the type of service you’re looking for and what you’d like to get out of the training. To give you the best direction of where to begin we recommend booking in an initial 1.5 hour session to start which costs $295. Program options are available for those seeking a more complete and well-rounded approach.
We accept payments by card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Apple Pay) to secure all bookings.
Whether you have an 8-week old puppy or an 8-year-old rescue dog, no dog is too young or too old for training. You can (and should) start the training from the day you bring your puppy home. Conversely, you’ll be amazed what training can do to benefit your older dog’s body and mind.
You should check their pulse right away! No. But really, we’ll help you to work with whatever your dog finds most motivating and rewarding for them.
To ensure you get the most value out of our sessions together, it is important that all guardians/adults that take care of the dog are present and focused. This is to ensure consistency in the training.
Due to the many variables involved in training and living with dogs, including owner commitment, consistency and follow-through, it would be unethical for us to offer a 100% guarantee. If you do find a dog trainer who guarantees results (and there are many), you should run very quickly in the opposite direction. This is large part due to owner commitment. We provide quality coaching and advice, but it’s our clients that create great results with their dogs.
Training sessions are available Tuesday to Sunday, 0800 – 1930.
